What a showing team, first time in a long time we had nearly the full roster out – only missing the manager and Brendan who were more than made up for by Rebecca.
Holding the Longballers to 1 run in the first inning during our second at bat they were talking about what it would take to mercy us with 30 runs, boy did we give them a surprise. Far from perfect play ourselves, we did a great job holding this very serious team at bay.
Our bats were swinging and runs were scored but the Longballers were a better team. Thankfully, in spite of that recognition we played a very full game of baseball.
Special thanks goes out to Rebecca for filling in for Julia and making offensive and defensive plays. Concern goes out to Jen who had a really rough late inning leaving ball lace marks on her chin. Standout fielding from Mike, Brent and Matt, plus an amazing third time is the charm catch from Jamie. Dave found his spirit animal and picked up a couple RBI’s.
